I have a somewhat distant relationship with my dad and I hoped this trip to Iceland would give us a stronger connection. He’s getting older and I fear that we won’t have many trips left. We had a nice time, and he got to see everything he wished for, but I wouldn’t say it brought us much closer. But we got to share this exact splash of a geyser! We got soaking wet and it put a smile on his face. The fact that I got this photo as a memory is pretty… I don’t know. Both sad and very nice.
